Campervan: Day 5

Wed 2 Oct 2019

Today we left Milford, had more snow by the Homer Tunnel and stopped at Monkey Creek for the keas.

They climbed on the campervan and tried to open the roof hatch over my bed, then two of them sat on Mum’s door when she went to get back in.

We went back to the Te Anau playground and had hot chip butties for lunch, then drove to Lake Hauroko campground for the night.

Campervan: Day 4

Tues 1 Oct 2019

We walked to the boat harbour and spotted some kea on the way, then booked a cruise on the Lady Bowen boat.

It drove under a couple of waterfalls to get everyone on the front of the boat completely soaked, including Dad twice, on purpose.

Later we drove the campervan back to the boat harbour to have dinner looking at Mitre Peak and then went on the foreshore walk so Mum and I could use the stick swing.

Campervan: Day 3

Mon 30 Sept 2019

We drove back out the dirt road to Te Anau for lunch and another playground. This one had two flying-foxes next to each other, so I raced Dad and I won!

We started driving through to Milford Sound and on the way, we stopped at some lookouts, went through the Homer tunnel and saw a kea at The Chasm carpark.

It was snowing a little while we waited to go into the tunnel.
